Goings on at The Swan - October 18

Food event

“Meat the Butcher” Steak Night this Thursday, October 4
More than half of the tables have been booked, so please email me if you’d like to reserve a table. (landlord@theswan.pub)

New ales

Summer Lightning, Hopback 5?v
Timothy Taylor’s Landlord proved popular, despite being a little on the pricey side. Apologies to Keith who despite campaigning for Landlord to go on at The Swan, ended up missing it completely. I expect it will be back soon, meanwhile Hopback’s Summer Lighting has just gone on, Sauvignon Blonde is back following a shortage at the brewery, along with Crafty’s APA and Tring’s Whirlwind.

Alcohol free beers

Draught Alcohol Free Ghost Ship coming soon on
There has long been a steady demand for good quality, low alc bottled beer at The Swan. Popular over the past few years, and still are: 0.5% semi-dark Czech beer “BERNARD Free Amber”, Sole Star from Adnams which dropped from its original 2.7% to 0.9%, and the new 0% Adnams Ghost Ship, (no more than 0.5% according to the label.)
Adnams claim they are the first brewery in the country to buy new German equipment which removes the alcohol using osmosis, which produces something much closure that the standard version. Going by how fast the first few cases sold, it seems they’re right, and The White Swan is happy to announce that we’re now of the first pubs in the area to offer 0% Ghost Ship on draught, (probably from this Thursday, Oct 4).

More events being planned

Thanks for the positive feedback following the last Fish & Chips night. We’re currently looking at the diary for another date, as well as an Italian night, and possibly even a Karaoke session.
